Upcoming Exhibition:
"Crossing the Line: The Passport Re-Imagined" considers ideas and the ideals of identity, belonging, and freedom of movement. Organized by the Cynthia Sears Artists’ Books Collection, this exhibition travels to San Francisco Center for the Book from the Bainbridge Island Museum of Art. Taking inspiration from passports and other travel-related ephemera, the exhibition highlights nearly 30 artists’ books that document both the promises and limitations of the passport, while considering key concepts of nationality, boundary, and place.
